Sounds stupid, but it worked. I played the Spurs about 9 times before I finally read that tip somewhere and got the game to save properly after the win.

All in all, a great game. Would have given 5 stars except for these two issues. It is almost enough to keep PC gamers away for a while until it gets sorted out.

Top critical review. It's been a blast to play. However, I noticed that this version I got on Amazon digitally has a myriad of glitches. For starters, there is some gray and black lines that materialize within the game that briefly disrupt the image consistent and some of the player models have visual errors the clothes appearing in front of their body and not on them!

The worse culprit was that the game froze on me once, but it started up again about 10 seconds later. It's a shame, but still works.

I don't have much to say about the game itself since it is the same great game that it was last year with some enticing additions expanded 'legends roster', new roster updates, tighter gameplay.

Not as major of an upgrade as 2k11 was. I also have yet to try the online component nobody I know ever gets this for the PC , but at the price I got the digital download for, it's pretty much worth the purchase. The download experience through the amazon downloader though was less than ideal. I had to download the whole 7 gig installer twice because the first one unpacked incorrectly and corrupted some files can't amazon verify individual files after the download and then just re-download the files that were uncorrupted, i asked The graphics, of course, are definitely the best on PC compared to the console versions especially if you exceed the recommended requirements.

This game doesn't tax your graphics card much, though, so you can get away with a low-mid ranged graphics card paired with a quad core and still get 60fps at p resolution.

I was never a big fan of basketball games until NBA 2K It was a great basketball simulation that had great gameplay and a realistic presentation. I'm not one to go and shell out every year for a simple roster update so I was very hesitant to buy 2K12 despite my love for the predecessor.

However, those things still don't justify a purchase IMO. The biggest difference with 2K12 is how the gameplay is far more realistic. In 2K11 you could get to the hoop and finish fairly regularly without much trouble even with a Dwight Howard of Joakim Noah guarding the rim. In 2K12 if you use the same strategy you are going to get your shot sent back in your face more often than not.

This makes dunks and amazing layups far less common which may deter and frustrate some players who are looking for an arcade type game like NBA Jam. However, for me it makes getting those highlight reel plays all that more gratifying.

It is similar to hockey or soccer in that there are few goals scored but when they happen there is more excitement and a sense of accomplishment. The other significant change I have noticed is that fast breaks are possible in this iteration. In 2K11 it was very hard to get points off fast break opportunities the D always managed to get down the court faster than the offense. These fast breaks seem to be the best place to get dunks and ally oops.

So with fewer dunks being scored you are going to find that the the 3 pointer is going to be key to winning games. The AI seems to have a hard time identifying who the player is guarding so they make bad switches which often lead to open 3s being shot which more often than not go in.

Overall 2K12 is a great game just be prepared to play it differently than 11 or you will find yourself getting very frustrated. I would refrain from buying it from Amazon until their download service is fixed and you can decide where to download the files to so that you don't have to shift files around to fit the game on your SSD. There are certainly some great aspects to this game.

As is par for 2K's course the last few years, the player animations and graphics continue to improve, and a wider variety of basketball history is addressed with the legends mode.
